Prof. Adamson S. Muula

Professor Adamson S. Muula is currently Head of Department of Community and Environmental Health at the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences. He holds a degree from the University of Malawi-College of Medicine, a Master of Public Health from Loma Linda University-California. Prof Muula also holds a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned postgraduate diplomas in Palliative Care, Global Health and Public Health Ethics. Prof Muula is a certified public health specialist (American National Board of Public Health Examiners) and he is a Fellow of the ECSA College of Public Health Physicians. He has authored and co-authored more than 300 peer-reviewed publications.

Thengo Kavinya Managing Editor MMJВ is a Communication Specialist with over ten years experience in Medical Publishing. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism obtained from the Polytechnic University of Malawi. He has published close to 30 health related articles in the MMJ as well as local media. He also has extensive knowledge in creating online and social media campaigns and have a proven track record of conducting interviews as well as website management and graphic designing.В His main interest is in Science Communication.

Fanuel Meckson Bickton, BSc. PT (Hons), MSc CRPT (Distinction)

Fanuel is a Lecturer in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS), where he teaches Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy and Bioethics. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from KUHeS and an MSc (Distinction) in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy from University College London. His research focuses on pulmonary rehabilitation and multimorbidity, supported by grants from the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, NIHR–Wellcome, and CARTA. Currently pursuing a PhD at the University of the Witwatersrand, he is Malawi's most published physiotherapist, with over 20 publications, and has served as an editor for the Malawi Medical Journal since 2016.

Dr Nyondo-Mipando is a State Registered Nurse/Midwife by profession. She is a lecturer in health Systems and Policy, Healthcare Quality Improvement and Research Methods. Her research interests are in health systems and Implementation science with an aim of improving the delivery of various evidence based interventions particularly in the area of Maternal and Child health and HIV and AIDS.

Professor Nyengo Mkandawire is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, a Foundation Fellow of COSECSA, and a Fellow of FAIMER. He is the former President of the Association of Surgeons of East Africa (ASEA) and a past Council Member of the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA), with extensive leadership experience in surgical education and practice.

Dr. Joshua Feyi-Waboso is a physician and medical educator practising in southwest England. A graduate of the University of Exeter Medical School, he also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Warwick Medical School. His research focuses on public health, primary care, and ophthalmology, with particular interest in community eye health and disease prevention. He has published widely and secured research funding to advance health education during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Allison Daniel is a PhD Candidate in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Toronto and The Hospital for Sick Children, Canada. Her research focuses on severe acute malnutrition in children, examining how maternal factors and caregiving practices influence child development and nutritional outcomes. She leads the Kusamala Program, a cluster-randomized trial evaluating an interactive counselling intervention at the Moyo Nutritional Rehabilitation and Research Unit.
